Artist Biography

Linda Kay Parker Young was born in and is a resident of Maben, Mississippi. As a young child, I was tenacious and held a tight hold to my dreams. I looked up into the clouds one day and said that I will attend a major university and become a well-known Fashion Designer, while other children chuckled at my dreams. My fashion dreams are to first become nationally known then globally known. Years ago, I remember watching my mom sew on her sewing machine. As I looked patiently, I knew that deep down within that I wanted to create, design, and manufacture clothes. At age 8, I made my first skirt with no experience. People thought that I had bought it out of a store. My talent to sew had begun to blossom at that point.  I was inspired to become a Fashion Designer by watching my mom sew. I am humbled by the role my mother played in my life as a young girl even though she never knew what great role she played. Designing clothes and accessories come naturally to me. All of my designs are inspired from God. I never know what an outfit will look like until I finish it. Designing apparels and accessories give me a chance to release my God given abilities and talents into the earth. I am thankful for God and my mother's inspiration in my life as a young girl. My mother strong will to try and sew for her girls prepared me for this adventure that I am walking in today. I earned my High School Equivalency Diploma, an Associate Degree in Microcomputer Application graduating 3.0 - 4.0 average- Phi Theta Kappa and an All American Scholar, a Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with emphasis in Apparel Textiles and Merchandising, General Business, and Business Technology from Mississippi State University (MSU in 2006), and later enrolled into the graduate program at MSU to pursue my Master's Degree in Public Policy Administration. I enrolled in Theology School to pursue a Bachelor in Bible Interpretation. My biography was published (publications) in the United States of American All American Scholars Collegiate Directory and published in the Annual Edition of the National Dean's List. I became the founder of Kingdom Line Clothing, LLC in 2002 and have gain high recognition since becoming an official Fashion Designer in 2006 once I received my bachelor degree. My fashion designs have appeared on exhibit in Columbus, MS, Mid-South Fashion Week, Jack Robinson Gallery, and at Negrotto’s Gallery. I participated in the New York Talent Convention in New York, New York and won the Mississippi Top Fashion Designer Award in 2004.  I belong the Mississippi State University Alumni Association, East Mississippi Community College Alumni Association, Professional Link Toastmaster Club, and Golden Key Brief. I was nominated to participate in the International Mission on Business at MSU. I developed a program to help behavior children in school called Performance Cards. I am the founder/CEO Anew Start Foundation. Anew Start encourages and inspires youth to reach their highest potentials and to "Think Big" while on the way to success. I was a presenter at East Mississippi Community College 2012/2013 Women Technology & Science Conference where I encourage 200 high school girls to “Think Big.” My volunteer work consist of several organizations; Junior Achievement of America, Women for Obama - Obama for America, Mayor Johnny Dupree Campaign, President Obama Campaign and many more. I am the CEO, Founder of Kingdom Line Clothing, LLC and Linda Kay Custom Apparel where I preside as a Southern, Classic, Modern, Elegant, Style Fashion Designer- creating, designing, and manufacturing clothes. My specialty is Bespoke Couture Hand Made or One of a Kind Apparels, all made in the USA. I am also aBusiness Entrepreneur, Publisher, Web Designer, Graphic Designer, Writer, Inspirational Speaker, Business/Technology Consultant, Apostolic Dancer/Consultant, Singer, Mentor, Fashion Model/ Adviser, Spiritual Adviser, Instructor for Beginning Sewing, Knitting, and Computer Classes, Computer Troubleshooter, Hardware & Software Configurator, and an Academy Leader (MSPTI). I have presided as Administrator, a consultant - Peer Tutor and Academic Counselor, United States Association for Small Business & Entrepreneurship (USASBE) Research Reviewer, 4 - H Activity Leader, Advocate for Children, Fall Fellow Obama for America for President Barack Obama, and a Professional Fashion Model. I obtained a certificate in Research Development, Grant Writing, and How to Operate a Home Based Business. I have obtained distinguish awards and belong to distinguish associations and organizations. I was featured in books, newspapers, and in televisions ads. I look at myself as a success story because through God I have overcome many obstacles especially being a high school dropout to graduating from a prestigious university and becoming a Fashion Designer. My extreme faith led me to step outside of the unusual.
